    Just tried to update the site and after selecting the UPGRADE option I get a "500 Error. Site temporarily unavailable." error page????

      Selecting Advanced manual upgrade - it appears I can't connect to the database on the server even though it is there and all the details are correct... huh?

        Try running a repair on the database using PHPMyAdmin, not sure if that would work but worth a try

          OK will do - got server team "fixing some errors" at the moment... this really is a mess! first site down as PHP not compitable - now the DB seems to have issues...
