Im looking to update from Evolution to Revolution. I tried installing Revolution into a VM and getting the database from Evolution, importing it into the VM and copy/pasting all the files over. I imagine that it would NOT work and indeed I am having problem as it uses old "mysql_connect" code not supported in PHP 5.5 anymore.

My question is, what is the best way to do this? Even if it is a bit hard/time consuming.

You can try the Provisioner add-on

Im gonna try that out and see how it works....

Just in case, Im gonna format the VM again and start from scratch...

Be aware that your snippets and plugins probably won't work, any that access the database certainly won't work. Most snippets have a Revo version, such as Wayfinder -> Wayfinder, Ditto -> getResources, AjaxSearch -> SimpleSearch, eForm -> FormIt or SPForm.

            One thing:

In Provisioner, when selecting Login or Logout, which?

            I want to "Logout" right?

I rethought it and I imagine Im logging into the remote site.

                Tried and this popped up:

Login to the Remote Site failed - Revolution gateway package is not installed in the remote Evolution site -

You have to follow the instructions exactly. The gateway package has to be installed in the Evo site at the correct location.

Here is another screenshot so you can see that the manager sees it too:

Do I have to import the ZIP thru manager or something???
