Is it still possible to upgrade an Etomite Installation, here 1.1 Prelude, to any release of MODx?
    see also: https://forums.modx.com/index.php/topic,2915.0.html

I tried an upgrade to the latest MODx Evo, but got a lot of errors during changing the tables of DB. [ed. note: kamelle last edited this post 12 years, 3 months ago.]

      Hi kamelle,

I tried to find out when 1.1 Prelude was released but since I'm not from the Etomite days, I don't know when this was released.

I think your better option is to convert what you have to Revolution. It's not a simple drop something in a directory and click upgrade, but I figure if a person can create an awesome site from scratch with modx, creating a new site and porting over the code shouldn't be impossible.

      Hope this helps.

      Tom

          Thanks Malcolm!

Kamelle, given that Prelude 1.1 came out about 4 years after the split, I doubt that it would work, and it would probably be easier than to troubleshoot all the issues you're having.

          Regards,
          Tom

            Thanks for all.
It`s a pitty that i`ve missed the connection to MODx before upgrading to 1.1 Prelude.
Is there another way as to copy by hand all content and templates to MODx?
Have snippets and chunks still the same structure in MODx as in Etomite?

Resources and elements still have the basic structure, although several added fields in some cases. You might be able to do a data-only export of the Etomit site, then import into empty tables of a Revo installation. Resources, chunks and templates should be OK at any rate. Snippets and plugins of course probably won't work at all.

What do you mean with a data-only export of the Etomit site?
In Etomite, IMO i`ve only the possibility to export to HTML.

Use phpMyAdmin, export the site_content and the elements tables but only the data, not the structure. Then for the MODX database, use phpMyAdmin to import the exported .sql file.

I am by no means sure that this will work, but it's worth a try.
