Hello,
I have two sites both of which will have a common side bar of recent events. Is there a way I can use the RSS feed from site1 on site2 to update this sidebar?
It needs to read the RSS feed and then plug it into a template and post it. Template would be something simple like title is h5 and body is bold..
Thanks

If it’s a normal RSS feed, just use FeedX or one of the other feed snippets.

I looked at some of those, but they seam geared towards creating the feed. I need to take a feed and create the code to display on the other site.
Or did I just not look close enough at those?

Ditto produces feeds, the two snippets mentioned above consume feeds (consume... that is the proper techie term, isn’t it?).

That works for me. Granted now the challenge is to get the snippets working...

When I’ve used FeedX I’ve found it most convenient to use a wrapper snippet that does
$modx->runSnippet('FeedX', array('parameter' -> 'value', 'parameter2' -> 'value2', etc... ));
so that I can use & and = in the FeedX parameter list, which is useful for the URL of the feed to display.
Unless it’s been patched since I used it to allow replacing these characters...
I am a big fan of SimplePie also, but I think FeedX is way easier to template and the logic is similar to templating everything else in MODx.
