I'm using Articles for a blog engine and need to filter the main feed appearing in the articles container template (blog index) to a specified category.

I tried replacing the default articles placeholder in the content field with a filtered getResources call, which works as expected, but this also filters items appearing in the feed when clicking on a category or archive link.

How can I filter the main articles feed to a specific category while also maintaining correct presentation of category or archive lists?

    Thanks

Anyone? This is a really problematic issue that seemingly should be simple to resolve. Just could use some guidance on how to go about this.

Wow. Come on people. This is an easy one, or should be. Someone, be a hero. Please.

I'd just use a redirect. If you want the main blog URL to always just show one category.
          So if it's say www.whatever.com/blog

Redirect that URL to www.whatever.com/blog/tags/yourtag here.

Could be done with Weblinks as well.

I'll have to try this out. Concern is, when using a single Articles parent container, recent posts, archives, categories, etc., all point to that parent container and filter based on tags. With the redirect that you suggest in place, everything would redirect and I'd have the same issue.

You could also look into using Collections (http://modx.com/extras/package/collections) and Tagger (http://modx.com/extras/package/tagger) as a replacement for Articles. It might work a little better for your needs.

That's why you could hide the Articles container from menus and use a web link with the build in tag for any instances where you just want to click a link called "Blog" or whatever.
