Hi,
I am new to MODX and i would like some guidance please.
What i am trying to do is to create a new resource group from front-end( i saw a similar post on the forum using formit) but i would like some extra functionality to that which is when the new resource group is created a new page would automatically be created and assigned to that resource group .
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance,
Thanasis
Yes, it's relatively easy, but you'll need a custom snippet or plugin to do it. It depends a little on how you're creating the resource group. If you're doing it yourself in code, you might as well create the page and add it to the group at that point. It would help if we could see the code that's creating the resource group.
I suggest using the existing processors for creating a user group, then the one for creating a resource and after that adding the resource with joinGroup() to the newly created group =)
Hi,
sorry it took me long to reply.
I managed to solve it by using the runprocessor. As a fairly new user and developer of modx it seems that you have to do a lot of studying on the modx api.
Bob i would like to compliment you, your responses around the modx forum and the resources on your website are very very helpful!!
Thanks
Thanks for the kind words.
I agree with exside. Using runProcessor() to call the existing processor is the way to go. It's more fault-tolerant and it will invoke any appropriate System Events.
