Check this out (try grabbing an upper corner and dragging a page):

    http://www.teamfranken.com/volCenter.php

It’s also animated when you click on a new day if the day isn’t displayed and it pops up a little mini-form when you click on "volunteer for this event."

Notice that the pages have moving shadows as they turn. Somebody put some time into this one.

Anybody up for snippetizing this puppy? smiley

If you can get the flash source (legally), anything is possible... wink

It’s a Flash book, possibly fed by an xml file, built in form and loads of trick bits.
I could download it, decompile it , look at it, take it apart, break it and still have no idea!
Makes your normal JS calendar look a bit lame doesn’t it? :’(

I don’t know. Flash certainly has its place, but I always think information such as this calendar should be presented as html for usability. It looks nice but not user-friendly to me.

I’m always asked to do these page-flipping thingamajigs by a certain client. I can’t convince her that they’re totally inaccessible and SEO-unfriendly and thus a generally bad idea. She knows what she wants, and she wants flipping pages.

I really like the examples here (though a URL isn’t provided for the first screenshot.) From that page we see this which is drawing in data from a Google Calendar but obviously, like in the example screenshot, styling it as needed.

You can see the XML parsed from Google Calendar here, but he doesn’t list the php code to parse it. Also, the JavaScript code is here.

A lot of my clients use Google Calendar and would love for select calendars to appear on their sites displayed in a manner other than the standard grid calendar views.

Thanks for sharing! Just something I needed smiley

I will be starting a new project in Modx that client wants a dynamic calendar, after some googling, I recommended Google Calendar; it’s for a fitness club schedules and will look something like this:
                http://alamedaathleticclub.com/schedules.html

Was looking at Microformats’ hCalendar, I saw a site that use the hCalendar very nicely and it can export the data to Google Calendar and outlook and iCal. I haven’t investigate if similar feature can be done from Google Calendar

That just struck me as funny... ;-)

Google Calendar can be exported to iCal and several other formats and has integrated feeds in them as well, so I expect it’s a good choice for what you’re doing.

I wish the Google would fix the wordwrap problem in its embeddable calendar.

                      I can’t believe it’s still there. >:(
