I’m using MODx version 0.9.5. QuickEdit was working fine until I enabled use-friendly alias paths. Then pages that showed up as subfolders didn’t render the links correctly. When I looked at the source, I noticed that the quickedit links in the <head> began with "assets/..." rather than "/assets/...". I figured that this was one of those cases where the alias paths setting broke something, obviously looking for "assets/..." in the current folder. So I went into the QuickEdit module source and replaced "assets/..." with "/assets/...". The improperly rendered links in subfolder pages disappeared, but so did everything else. No quickedit code shows up in the header at all now.

BTW, I went back and removed the "/" (at least I think I did), and I added <base href="[(site_url)]"></base> before CCS and JS code in the <head>. But nothing changed.

    Ideas?

I figured out the problem. One of my links had led me to another version of the site -- which is still being designed -- to which I wasn’t logged in. Duh!
