There’s a section in a site I’m building in which the documents are meant to be read sequentially, much like a paged article. I know to use the firstChildRedirect when there’s a parent-child doc relationship; I’m curious if there’s an equally easy method for linking to the next document—sibling-to-sibling.

With my current structuring strategy, in which document indexes are initially entered in increments of 10—easing future doc insertions into the tree without having to alter other indexes, I’d need a mechanism that finds the next highest index in the container (say 2 to 7, where a hypothetical index sequence of 0, 2, 7, 10 ... exists). (As I write this, I wonder: Can decimal numbers be used in the doc index field or only whole numbers?)

    Thanks for your input ...
