It sounds like you are hitting the resource limits for your hosting plan, and being cut off causing the problems. MODX Revolution does tend to be resource heavy, which generally causes problems in LVE (ex: CloudLinux) managed environments. You are given maximum resource limits that are hard (aka cannot exceed), and if you hit them you are cut off resulting in errors.

The solution to the underlying problem is to reduce MODX's resource usage, use workarounds to mask the problem, or to consider changing hosting providers entirely. Generally larger hosting providers focus on revenue, how can they pack more users to a server (~600-1200 if nto more), and hard resource limits is the answer.

Anyways, try upgrading to 2.2.14 and see if that helps any. If you want to give SkyToaster's hosting a try drop me a line and I can hook you up.

      Hi Patrick:

I am planning on making the move. Probably won't be able to actually set it up and get down to work until middle of next week. I was hoping to have set it up over the weekend, but several other projects flared up and it's been a bit chaotic. Never a dull moment.

I tried doing an upgrade earlier today, but ran into issues SSH issues. Think I have them figured out though.

Thanks for jumping in here with feedback. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback Bob. I am planning to update the MODX version, though I do not suspect the version to the be culprit. More than likely it's an overload & corrupt cache issue, since my clearing the site cache immediately fixed it.

Creating a cron job sounds like a good idea...if only I knew what that was and how to create it. I've seen mention of the terminology elsewhere on the forum, so I'll do some research. In the meantime, I'll just check the site manually on a very regular basis until I can learn to develop a cron job.

If you're looking for a simpler solution, you might consider the cron services which will load a specific URL at a given time.
          For example, https://www.easycron.com
