modx using large amounts of memory causing mysql/apache to stop working on LAMP environment

Hi

I am having some memory related issues for a modx site we recently migrated to a new VPS. Every 3 days the website stops working becuase mysql or apache has ran out of memory hence its stopped working. We are trying to find out the root cause but there doesnt seem to be any messages in the manager.

That will do it. You might want to look at some of the alternative thumbnail generating add-ons. I have never really had this problem, so I can't be any more specific.

its only 12 images on the home page in a jquery banner. the website doesnt really get many hits so its not the volume of traffic.
