How can I create a blog that allows uploading of images?
- MaxiGallery is too much.
- Basic Blog (NewsPublisher) on sample site install does not allow image upload.

I don’t know, but I would check out Quick Edit. Maybe it’s somehow possible to use its WYSIWYG capabilities not just for editing, but also when creating a new document.
According to the QuickEdit FAQ:
"Why can’t I add/publish/delete/move a page?
QuickEdit does not support anything other than simple edits at this point. We are planning on incorporating these and other features in future releases."
I thought the natural solution would be to just select the TinyMCE editor to the preinstalled blogForm that comes with the default site. However, even if you select TinyMCE, it doesn’t "stick" when you save changes.
I guess that is my best best. Someone suggested that or NewsPublisher before.. .since NewsPublisher comes WITH default install, I thought it must be more bug-free and easier to use. But, it doesn’t have image upload feature, so not going to work for this, I guess.
Thanks very much. I had completely forgotten about FDM and was all set to embark on this almost certain gigantic waste of time:

Hmmm! I will look into it. I presume WP has a photoblog module or something. thanks again!
Wordpress is pretty friendly for this task. Uploading photos from your desktop is pretty straightforward.
If you are creating a site that uses both Wordpress and MODx then I would imagine the BIG task will be achieving a similar cohesive look so that your system does not look like two different websites. I think there will be much time needed with the CSS to get it all looking nice. Its an intriguing idea though...
Looking through the recent posts on the MODx forum I notice several questions related to the issue of how do you upload photos to your blog style posts that will become part of the page with captions etc. For some the visual effect of the MaxiGallery snippet is not what is wanted.
I think one way is to FTP your images to a "images" folder you create in the MODx "assets" folder. You do this first. Then when you create your Ditto post etc where you can add the photo with the rich text editor. This is OK if you the site owner is doing the posting, but its way less than ideal if you have a group of Web Users. Who wants to give Web Users access to the root FTP folder?
I don’t want thumbnails, nor do I want just one image per blog post, so probably neither WP nor MaxiGallery is going to work for me.
Ideally, the TinyMCE thing would be awesome if it would add content and not just edit it.
For now, I am focusing on FDM. It might work.
