What's the secret for accomplishing that home page treatment on MODX.com? How do you get the image to remain filling the screen to the bottom until the user scrolls? Very cool. Can it be set up as a slider?

It's just a background image for the first section of the page. That's pretty basic for any of the "one-page" sites.

Yeah, I've done something similar. There's a JQuery slider that supports progressive image loading that is great for dealing with large images like this.

Hm. That Imagevue thing that the mjau-mjau site uses is pretty pricey. It's a complete gallery solution, though, as far as I can see. I suspect you can do the same thing with Gallery or MIGx and the cycle2 javascript.
It is pricey. Might be tricky to integrate. ProjectSeven has some solutions, but they are responsive on their own. I'm working in Foundation 5, so not necessarily in need of an alternate responsive system. Just need the solution for the slider. I use a projectSeven widget sometimes called Image Gallery Magic. I'll research and see if this is an option to obtain the same background image/single-page site type effect.

Well, I'm doing it with Cycle2 Javascript, and MIGx for managing the lists of images. Or maybe Gallery. The client needs to cough up some useful images as well as some content, though. I'll post it when it gets to the point of having something to see.

You could either overlay text onto an ordinary slider image using z-index and absolute positioning, or you could use Javascript with a timer to change the background image at regular intervals. Or you could change the element's classname at intervals instead, maybe a simple looping counter and add the counter to the classname.
