    We have some issues with hosteurope as provider and formit (and other mailing tools)

    As we understand, we have to set a standard mail adress in the hosteurope configuration.
    This is done and simple formit setups are ok. Lets say its [email protected]

    We now want to set the reply-to to the customers adress:
    [[!FormIt?
       &hooks=`email...`
       &emailTo=`[email protected]`
       &emailFrom=`[email protected]`
    ...
       &emailReplyTo `[[+email]]`
    ]]

    hosteurope filters the +email value to the above mentioned standard email [email protected]

    Does anybody has a tip other than hacking the formit php?

      Try using SMTP instead of PHP for the mail handling?

        We tried the following:

        SMTP with ports 25 or 587 -> connection failed
        (credentials are checked and ok)

        I've read something about an -f parameter to be set in php mail, but not sure were to be set,
        maybe in
        /core/model/modx/mail/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php
        around line 600-612 ?

        hosteurope mentions somthing like:
        Soll über ein Skript eine E-Mail versendet werden, muss mit dem Parameter "-f" eine gültige Absenderadresse angegeben werden. Bitte beachten Sie, dass diese E-Mail-Adresse innerhalb des Produkts angelegt sein muss! Die Syntax lautet "-f [email protected]". Fehlt diese Information kann kein Mailversand erfolgen und die entsprechende mail-Funktion im Script liefert eine Fehlermeldung. Als Return-Path und als Mail-From wird die angegebene Email-Adresse verwendet.

        Dieser Parameter muss der E-Mail-Funktion im PHP-Quelltext übergeben werden. Dies könnte z.B. so aussehen:
        mail ($empfänger, $betreff, $nachricht, $headers, "-f [email protected]");

        ok, if I understand that correct, only existing email adresses from our client are valid, so a reply-to would be not possible ?!? wtf...
