Since upgrading the other day from 2.2.12 to 2.2.14 the variables tab has disappeared fem each page, when i try and change the template for the document as soon as i save it reverts back.
i have checked the templates section and the tick box is ticked to show the variables for that template.

Did you run Setup after upgrading the files?
If so, try deleting all files in the core/cache directory and clearing your browser cache and cookies. Also, try turning off the compress_css and compress_js System Settings if you haven't already.
