    HI

i am trying to get modx working again as the host just changed setting and and now we are having the issue where they are using PHP_ADMIN_VALUE to set the includes folder but when they set this it does allow us access to a folder in the rood of the server for includes. is it possiable for me to copy/move all the data from the includes folder to this prodvided folder so modx can find them.

and yes we are trying to get them to change the setting back as it was all working fine before but our client is getting unhappy and we would like to try and get somthing working asap.

(note i am not at work today so dont have access to try this out but if it can be done i can ask for one of the designers to move it for me)

Moving the includes will not work, you would need to change the path on several documents including the add-ons.

My recommendation is to drop this host, explain to the client that the host is responsible for this situation and that NO CMS would work under these conditions. I don’t understand why some hosts insist on running with php in safe mode, it realy limits what can be done and the security gains are relative.
