Admin Activation

I’m converting a reseller website to MODx, but the site needs to be passworded (easy part) and all new accounts need to be activated by the owner.

Also the registration page needs to collect a bit more information as they are applying to be a reseller, that information dosn’t need to be stored in the database, but it does need to be emailed to the owner (company) so they have it on record.

To activate accounts with the existing site there is a special link in the activation email so it’s a one click process for the person. The information is already entered into the database and an activated field is used to toggle the account on an off so the activation link just updates that field.

Anyways can this or something very similar be done using MODx and if so could you outline some of the basics (what would I need out of resource collection and what if any special coding would be needed for the extra registration details and activation requirement)?

(Oh, I would offer up the existing system to be converted or whatever, but it’s not very secure using cookies to store the username and password so this is a replacement/upgrade effort)

Bump... Anyone have any suggestions here or does this site need to stay standalone?
