I'd like to have SimpleSearch 1.8.1 on Revo 2.2.14 be able to search for 2 character strings (a client has some projects with 2 digit numbers that are significant keywords), but with no success.
I've tried adding &minChars=`2` (the default value is 3) but it doesn't work. Any ideas? If not can AdvSearch do this?

I'm having the same issue. Need to be able to set minChars to 2. As far as I can tell, minChars doesn't work at all. Have tried 2 characters, 4 characters, but seems stuck on the default 3.
For what it's worth, reading through the snippet it seems the parameter does not actually exist. Which is certainly the way it's behaving.
Any ideas? If not can AdvSearch do this?
@atype - dds you have any luck or end up trying AdvSearch?
mysql variable
ft_min_word_len was set to 4. When lowering this to 2, everything works again!
