Generate Unique Download Link

Looking to allow users to access software for download from my site. Want to have them register by submitting a form and then emailing a unique link to download the software. Any existing Extras for this?

Sounds like a job for a post-hook for the Register snippet.

You can use PHP's uniqid() function to create a guaranteed unique name (based on the time). You could also use the return value as a prefix or suffix if you want a meaningful filename.
