Hi Guys,
I got an error saying cannot read this folder every time i'm accessing manage files under element. I'm using mac os x 10.9.
Is there any other permission that I need to allow? If so to which folders?
I'm using MAMP stack for my development environment.
Thanks

More info please?
What version of MODX?
Have you done ANYTHING with security/permissions?
Are you the admin user? Do you have sudo checked? (although I don't believe this would make much difference)

Sounds like Evo; Elements->Manage Files. A default MAMP stack shouldn't have a problem. In fact, I just installed Evo from github, and uploaded and unzipped a bunch of css and js files in place for a template.

I knew this sounded familiar. This just happened on an existing install, after updating. I'm fairly sure the fix was to reset the base path in the file manager tab under configuration. The reset button works, or you can manually set it to [(base_path)] I believe.

Great! Glad to hear you're sorted. Could you mark this as answered please so the next person looking for it knows there's a solution within? Thanks!

Since this hasn't been marked as answered yet, I thought I would piggyback and say I am having the same issue, which is not solved with this solution.
It is an Evo 1.0.12 site, updated from 1.0.4 and moved to a new server. I noticed that I could not access the file manager from the tab or from within TinyMCE. Checked the configuration and sure enough the path from the old server was still set, so I hit the reset button which changed it to [(base_path)] - fully expecting that to fix the issue. But it hasn't.
So I tried to type out the actual path into the File Manager path field, but every time I save the configuration it reverts back to [(base_path)].
The File base path is set to: [(base_path)]assets/
And the File Browser URL is set to: assets/
I have tried variations on these as well and nothing has worked.
I have checked the file permissions on the assets directory and they are all set for 755 for folders and 644 for files.
I have checked the database and everything looks right there - at least to me. Is there a place where paths are stored in the database that I would need to alter?
Don't know what else to check and would appreciate suggestions.
