I tried upgrading the version to 2.2.14-pl to no avail. Still getting these error when I try to update anything on the site. I can upload images to the file browser, just can't do anything database related. Anyone run into similar problems?
what does the error log say?
and maybe there is a hint in PHP error log on the server?

Thanks for the reply. I did clear the cache, to no avial. It turns out I found the problem. It's in the .htaccess file that an SEO company unfamiliar with modX messed with :\
