syntax error, unexpected '{' in config.inc.php

After upgrade to Revo 2.2.14 I get this error on front page:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /var/mydomain.co.uk/httpdocs/core/config/config.inc.php on line 13
Anyone knows what the problem could be?

Try uploading and running the upgrade again. It sounds like the config.inc.php file didn't get written properly, leaving some of the code in place.

I have run the upgarde but now I encountered different problem, I can't finish the upgrade because on installation summary page it says I have httpdocs and manager folder unwritable (although they are 777), I realised that the paths are wrong, still pointing to some old server, so I updated the config.inc.php file with new paths but it still points to the old ones on summary installation screen and says the folders do not exist or are not writable - where else do I have to check for those paths?

is this correct? orshould it contain actual path?

That should work, but you might want to try putting in the full path to the core folder. There are three of these files, one in the site root, one in the connectors folder, and one in the manager folder.
