    I have a check box TV where each of the check box options are a link to another page in the site, here are the first three:

    <a href="[~135~]">Atari 2600</a>||<a href="[~145~]">Commodore 64</a>||<a href="[~138~]">ZX Spectrum</a>

    When I try to produce a Ditto list of articles tagged with any of these options it fails. My Ditto call looks like this:

    [[Ditto? &startID=`57` &tpl=`ditto_machinesby` &sortBy=`longtitle` &sortDir=`ASC` &tagDelimiter=`,` &tagData=`machine` &tagMode=`onlyTags` &tags=`<a href="[~138~]">ZX Spectrum</a>` &display=`all` &descendentDepth=`1`]]

    I’ve tried adding / in front of each " but that hasn’t helped.

    The same call works when searching for tags that aren’t links so I know the problem is with having the link code in the &tags= field.

    Can anyone help me please?

        Yes I am, I know how to do regular tagging, that isn’t the issue.

        The problem is, I have a set of tags that are links and Ditto doesn’t seem to like them. Is there a way around this?

          not tested, but maybe give it a shot :

          use this in your tv
          Atari 2600==[~135~]||Commodore 64==[~145~]

          then add the anchors in your ditto template.
          hope I’m right smiley

            OK, thanks for that last post, I seem to be getting closer now but the problem still isn’t solved.

            Using:

            Atari 2600==[~135~]||Commodore 64==[~145~]

            didn’t work so then I tried:

            Atari 2600== <a href="[~135~]">Atari 2600</a>|| Commodore 64== <a href="[~145~]">Commodore 64</a>

            This gave me the right output in my pages but Ditto still wont pick up the variable whether I use:

            &tags=`Atari 2600` or &tags=`Atari 2600== <a href="[~135~]">Atari 2600</a>`

              Finally cracked it! Instead of using &tag to limit the Ditto call to just one tag, I used &filter to filter out everything else. The beauty of this is I only have to choose a single word the tag contains.

              E.g. &filter=`machine,Atari,7`
              will bring results with this tag:
              Atari 2600== <a href="[~135~]">Atari 2600</a>
              Because the tag contains the word Atari.

              Thanks for all your help.

                glad you got it to work.
                are you using freindly URLs on the site? I’m asking because Atari 2600==[~135~]||Commodore 64==[~145~]
                does work for me.

                  I am using friendly URLs.

                  I should qualify what I said earlier, your suggestion would have worked but I would have had to change the way my site works to implement it. The TV I was using in Ditto, I also use for other purposes elsewhere in the site and had to retain its HTML code.

                  I had no idea I could use == in a TV though, that’s really useful!
