Apologies if this has been asked before - I suspect it has, but I just need pointing in the right direction.
Am using the latest Revolution (2.2.14) - long time Evo user so making the transition.
On a certain page my client wishes to sometimes put a video (using YouTube embed code) or sometimes a static image, both the same size and going in the same place - it will be either one or the other.
What would be the best way to allow them to do this in the manager? Showing them both TVs and then using If empty statements might work, so if the video code TV is empty use the image TV? I'm exploring Bindings for the first time so maybe these would be the way to go?
But wondered if there was a more professional way of doing it, like allowing the manager to check a box saying Video or Image, then being presented with the relevant TV to fill in - is that too complicated?
Any suggestions or links to relevant tutorials would be most welcome.
Thanks all in advance.
To answer my own question, it was unsurprisingly straightforward, but if it helps anybody like me:
I created an image TV [[*image-tv]] and a text TV [[*video-tv]] that I could paste the embed code into.
I then created a third TV called [[*choices-tv]] that has input type of radio buttons. In the Input Options tab, in the Input Option Values field I put the following:
Use Image==[[*image-tv]]||Use Video==[[*video-tv]]
and in the Default Value field I put [[*image-tv]].
In the Output Options tab I left it as Default.
Then I simply put the TV [[*choices-tv]] in the correct place in my html Template.
I put all three in the same Category so they appear in the same place in the Template Variables tab, with the radio buttons choice first, followed by the next two. Both image and video fields can now be filled in, but only the one selected by the radio button will be shown.
Very obvious now I know...
