Just installed Version: 2.2.14-pl onto a shared server & everything seemed to go ok until I try clicking on anything in the Admin dashboard where I find nothing works.

I thought this was a server issue so I contact them & after a series of mails they are satisfied the issue is not on their side.

    Linux: x86_64
    Apache: 2.2.7
    PHP: 5.3.28
    MySQL: 5.5.36
    Version: 2.2.14-pl

My hosting tech team say to contact Modx saying the following error is the issue:

[Mon May 12 19:46:33 2014] [error] [client 103.6.196.115] Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /home/transpo2/public_html/, referer: http://www.mysite.com/mod/manager/?a=60

[Mon May 12 19:46:33 2014] [error] [client 103.6.196.115] File does not exist: /home/transpo2/public_html/403.shtml, referer: http://www.mysite.com/mod/manager/?a=60

Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this problem?

(I already read many of the 'Blank Manager' threads that have been opened & the suggested solutions were unproductive)

    Any ideas???

If you can do so, be sure to turn of CSS/JS compression. This setting can be altered using phpMyAdmin if you are unable to do so through the manager. It does however sound as if either the install didn't work or there are permissions issues on the server.

          Hi Jay,

I checked all the permissions on each folder following advice received on threads in the forum & in various websites (bobs guide) and they all seem ok.

Before I decided to post here I pushed the idea it was a server issue to my host, but after nearly 2 days of discourse they are satisfied their server meets all the requirements.

I have only tried the install via softalicious, do you recommend doing the install using the 'traditional' download from your site, could that make a difference?

In the meantime I will check the CSS/JS compression setting.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

            Jamesjazz,

I am not keen to point at the hosting. I'd definitely try installing MODX traditionally. You may also wish to look at Bob Ray's guide for troubleshooting MODX: http://bobsguides.com/modx-troubleshooting.html

Are you able to tell us what host you're using?

              Hi Jay,

Already read Bobs guide, no joy.

My host is Exabytes in Malaysia (they are quite respected here & their support is very good).

I will uninstall & install the traditional & feedback here.

                Hi Jay,

                Thank you for your input.

Yes, disabling CSS/JS compression has worked smiley

I'm up and running/experimenting/testing (admin links all work now).

Appreciate your support, i am just hoping Modx can deliver all my imagination can conceive.
