Hey everyone Im creating a website using Modx and am struggling to create a decent sidebar navigation. Does any1 know where I could get some code for this or could any1 provide me with some help in doing this task? Im just looking for a simple navigation bar along the left hand side, containing 6 links.

First: this is posted in the wrong forum. It should be either in General Support or in Wayfinder if you are using wayfinder.

Second: Do you know how to create a vertical menu in plain old HTML/CSS?

Third: Did you do an install of MODx with the default dataset to see how others have done things?

      Cheers,

        Try the Wayfinder Snippet.

Wayfinder simply outputs menus as unordered lists, or any other method you want. You use CSS and sometimes JS to control the behavior, which has nothing to do with Wayfinder as a snippet—it’s all just XHTML/CSS/JS as it would be in any menu. If you can mock it up and have it working the way you want it to do in a static (set) of HTML files, then it will almost without question be able to be reproduced dynamically from your document tree dynamically with Wayfinder.

Wayfinder also ships with multiple drop down menu examples.
