Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong place. I did read the "Before You Post Here: READ THIS" page in this section and I tried to check the JIRA Issue Tracker - http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/, but it's gone.

Anyway, here's my issue: I can select "Is Static" for any chunk/snippet, and select a file and save, no problem. But if I then change to another file I get an error when I try to save: the "Static File" dropdown shows a red underline. Hovering over this, I get a tooltip saying that the element source is not writable and that I cannot edit the content of the element in the manager* (I can't paste it verbatim here because it is not possible to copy it). The permissions on the file in question are set at 644. Is this not enough for the manager to write?

I can do two things here to switch files:

    1. Unselect "Is Static", Save, (saves ok but with the content of the first file), re-select "Is Static" (the second file is still showing in the dropdown), hit Save and OK, it saves and the content switches to the content from the second file.
(The same error occurs if attempting to go back to the first file).

    2. Change the permissions on the file:
    664 - fails
    666 - works ok.

I don't know if this is a bug or just an inconsistency, but it would be nice to be rid of it.

*BTW, am I right in wishing NOT to be able to edit a static file content from the manager? I don't want to overwrite the external html/php file accidentally.
