[Resolved] Define Class to Opening Paragraph?

Hello,

I have been wrestling ModX for a fairly complex (aesthetically) project and I have come across a bummer.

Basically I am using the CSS pseudo class :firstletter so I can have the dropcaps effect on the opening paragraph of a blog entry. I am currently manually assigning the class of the opening paragraph, howerever this is rather finickity and I’m looking at a more automated approach.

With basically no PHP knowledge, is it possible to define the class of the first <p> within a specific DIV?

Or any pointers regarding the best way to approach it?

you can use p:first-child for ie7 and firefox, ie6 not

Thanks!

I haven’t come across ’first-child’ before. Very useful.

Beware that many CSS3 pseudo-selectors aren’t supported uniformly across browsers that are commonly in use.
