Hi, I want to install the ability for anonymous users to create documents on the front end (like a testimony or personal story) that will be posted on the site. I had a look at NewsEditor/NewsPublisher and they don’t seem to work with the most recent version of modx and the discussion for them is not accessible. I want to have a create testimony button and a window with a wyziwg editor. I could just create a snippet from scratch and add a table to the database but it would be way cool if there is already something that does this out of the box. Any help would be great. Cheers, Sarah

      Sarah,

I thought I had an easy answer for you but now I’m not so sure.

I know NewsPublisher definitely works with MODx 0.9.6. I haven’t tried it with 0.9.6.1 but it should work.

If you leave out the &canpost parameter or use &canpost=``, it should allow anyone to post.

I can’t find it in the repository, however. NewsManager, which includes NewsEditor is there. NewsEditor is based on NewsPublisher so it should be newer but the repository docs for it say it’s compatible with MODx 0.9.2.1 so, unless that’s a typo, it’s fairly old.

NewsPublisher is included in 0.9.6 install (look in Resources | Manage Resources | Snippets). I don’t have a pure install of 0.9.6.1 so I’m not sure if it’s there or not. If you have it, I’d give it a try. If not, I can probably zip up a copy for you.

      Hope this helps,

      Bob
