Can anyone tell me if there is a Tag Cloud snippet for Revolution? I can see one for Evo which needs to be uploaded via assets/snippets, but Revolution seems to have a different layout. The only one in the repository I could see was TagCloud 1.1.2-beta1, but if compatible with Revo it does not state where to upload the files and I cant find it in the Package Management downloads?

You should be able to do this with TagLister, which is available through the Package Manager (as 90% or so of the extras you would want).

Hi all, I did try to follow the Taglister docs but step 3 (ref the Tag Cloud) does not actually tell you how to do it, I also tried the link you suggested iusemodx, but again it did not seem to work?

I have the following set on my factfile pages:

            [[*tags:notempty=`
            <span class="tags">Tags: [[!tolinks? &items=`[[*tags]]` &tagKey=`tags` &target=`36`]]</span>
                `]]

This displays the pages tag. Those tags are entered on each Factfile page via a TV called 'tags'.

I want to create it so that if you click a tag, for instance dog, it will take you to a page that has a list of each factfile with the tag dog. At present they link to a resource (36) that just displays the tags.

I have read the taglister and tolinks docs but cannot figure it out. It would also be nice to have a tag cloud as mentioned before.

I am thoroughly confused now. I seem to be doing exactly what all the threads and docs say but it still is not displaying. I have the following call on my facts pages:

              [[*tags:notempty=`
              <span class="tags">Tags: [[!tolinks? &items=`[[*tags]]` &tagKey=`tags` &target=`36`]]</span>
                  `]]

then I have this call on page 36 (my chosen 'landing page'):

              [[!getResourcesTag? &element=`getResources` &elementClass=`modSnippet` &parents=`0` &tagKey=`tags` &pageLimit=`2` &pageNavVar=`page.nav` &showHidden=`1` &tpl=`tagsTpl_test` &limit=`2` &includeContent=`1` &includeTVs=`1` &processTVs=`1` &hideContainers=`1` &toPlaceholder=`taglist`]]

              [[+taglist]]

              Page [[+page]] of [[+pageCount]] [[!+page.nav]]

and finally my template 'tagsTpl_test contains this:

              <a href="[[++site_url]][[+url]]" class="[[+cls]]">[[+item]]</a>

The *tags TV is set as input option = auto-tags, and output option = text.

Can anyone help spot my mistake?

The tags appear on the facts page and are hyperlinked to resource 36. But when you land on page 36 (after clicking a tag) all that appears is the text 'Page 1 of 1' and no list of pages even though other pages in the parent containers contain the same tags?

I have been looking over and over and still can't see what I have done different?

Update. I have now completed the Tags page, a few small tweaks and it all came together. Firstly on my factfile pages I put the following code into the template:

                [[!toLinks? &tagKey=`tags` &items=`[[*tags]]` &target=`36`]]

I created a TV called 'tags' and for every factfile I fill out, I add 5 words (tags) on the template variable.

I then have a Tags Results page (ID 36 as defined above). On this page I have the following:

                <h1>[[!dynatagtitle:notempty=`Posts Tagged with "[[!dynatagtitle]]"`:empty=`[[*pagetitle]]`]]</h1>

                [[!getResourcesTag?
                       &parents=`29`
                       &elementClass=`modSnippet`
                       &element=`getResources`
                       &tpl=`Fact_images`
                       &limit=`0`
                       &includeTVs=`1`
                       &tagKey=`tags`
                       &showHidden=`0`
                       &hideContainers=`1`
                       &cache=`1`
                      ]]
                 [[!+page.nav:notempty=`
                    [[!+page.nav]]
                 `]]

The <h1> tags display the title for the results based on the tag that was clicked. It was borrowed from this page:

                https://forums.modx.com/thread/70961/need-help-with-taglister-in-a-blog-format-how-do-i-return-add-a-title-to-the-query-page

The getResourcesTag call displays my results with my template design which is a chunk called Fact_images.

I still did not manage to work out how to do a TagCloud. I did also have a taglister code, but it gave a vertical list of all tags associated with the posts, and I could not work out how to convert into a Tagcloud which is what I really wanted.

But what I have got now are factfile pages with tags, when a tag is clicked it takes the viewer to a results page showing a picture and pagetitle for all factfiles with that tag.

If anyone does know how to make the taglister display as a Tag Cloud I would be very interested in knowing how.
