Hi, I’ve recently tried to use ModX again [tried a little while ago, but gave up as wordpress offered everything I needed at the time and I felt much more comfortable with it], and have tried my hand at making a template.
Here’s the code for the template:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>[(site_name)] | [*pagetitle*]</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<link rel="[(site_url)]assets/templates/sunstatesolar/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<base href="[(site_url)]" />
</head>
<body>
<div id="wrapper">
<div id="header">
<div id="header_left">
<h1>[(site_name)]</h1>
</div> <!-- close header left -->
<div id="header_center">
notice goes here
</div> <!-- close header center -->
<div id="header_right">
</div> <!-- close header right -->
</div> <!-- close header -->
<div id="navigation">
<ul>
[[Wayfinder? &startId=`0`]]
</ul>
</div> <!-- close navigation -->
<div id="quick_links">
<ul>
<li><a href="">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="">Why Solar?</a></li>
<li><a href="">Information</a></li>
<li><a href="">Online Store</a></li>
<li><a href="">Rebates</a></li>
<li><a href="">About Us</a></li>
<li><a href="">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</div> <!-- close quick_links -->
<div id="content">
[*content*]
</div> <!-- close content -->
<div id="footer">
<span style="float:left;">© Sun State Solar 2008</span>
<span style="float:right;">webspinners</span>
</div> <!-- close footer -->
</div> <!-- close wrapper -->
</body>
My problem is, that when I try to view a webpage [eg:
http://www.davidlumleydesign.com/webspinners/sunstatesolar/ ] it doesn’t display the stylesheet. The stylesheet is at
http://www.davidlumleydesign.com/webspinners/sunstatesolar/assets/templates/sunstatesolar/style.css which is where it should be, and is where MODx is apparently looking for it.
Any assistance would be great, and if I’ve missed something obvious please point it out, I’m rather tired =P
Thanks.
edit: Forgot, I’m running it off my dreamhost webhosting, and I’ve tried it in both the latest version of FF, and IE; both on Vista Premium [if indeed that does make any difference].
