Is it possible to hide the image thumbs from the browser popup when uploading images via a tv / migx ?, all I need is the name to be present as the thumbs are causing a long wait when loading.

It's all been setup now and is a massive site, the only issue we have is the amount of time it takes the thumbs to load as the client has added all the images to 1 folder ( a few thousand ) so the simplest solution would just be to hide the thumbs

so, without hacking, not possible, I think
the generation of a thumb-link is depending on the setting 'imageExtensions'

so, may be, changing the imageExtensions - setting for that mediasource could help
Actually had/have the same problem with one of my sites (radio station, complete database of all available songs with covers in one folder 2500+ images...it crashes the server when that folder has to be thumbnailed...), the easiest way to disable thumbnailing is to create a specific media source for that folder and set imageExtensions to an empty value, no need to hack the core.
Which I also did for that site to circumvate the "dynamic" thumbnailing via a .php call with some get params, e.g phpthumb.php?param1=path etc. which prevents the browser from caching the thumbnails and then is responsible for a regeneration of these thumbs each time a folder has to be displayed in the media manager...using pThumb/Resizer/Imagine in addition (which is faster) + changed the core code to return an actually url to the cached thumbnail and not the url to the processor...
