    Hi All,

One of my clients noticed that all the site templates are missing from the Manager. Sure enough, when I go to the Elements tab the only templates that show are for the Articles snippet. None of the site templates are listed? On the front end the site is functionally normally which tells me the templates are alive in the database. How do I get to the templates from the Manager though? I need to do some editing...

    Thanks!

PS: the site is running on Revo 2.2.6 [ed. note: Photowebmax last edited this post 12 years, 5 months ago.]

Try just deleting all files in the core/cache directory.

Did this start when Articles was installed, or later?

        Hi Bob,

I am pretty sure this was well after Articles was installed...

Just to be sure on what I am to do here: I log in to my site FTP account, go to core>cache and then dump all the folders inside, everything? There are 17 folders and one xPDO.idx.php file inside the Cache folder...

        Thanks!

          Yes, delete them all.

I did that. Unfortunately the template files are still missing?

              One other thing...

Just to test the listing system: from the Elements pane I chose create "New Template": added really basic html tags in the template code and saved the template, but this template also does not show listed in the Elements pane under Templates...

Have you created any Element Category Access ACL entries lately?

If not, the next step might be to look at them in PhpMyAdmin in the modx_site_templates table to see if there's anything unusual about them (category, template_type, static, source) compared with the ones you can see.

                  Thanks Bob,

OK, I went deep into the server using PhpMyAdmin and found the templates. Just for good measure I copied the code for the templates from the PhpMyAdmin page and saved them to my desktop.

There are a couple of differences between the two Articles templates that are listed in the REVO MODx Manager and the rest of the site templates that do not show in the REVO Manager. An image might be easier to show this: please make sure you open your browser window wide enough to see the full chart with the properties column showing.

The main difference I see is with properties.

AFAIK, the site owner has not done anything specifically that would prevent the templates from showing in the Manager. For now it might be that I have to edit the templates from inside PhpMyAdmin instead of the MODx Manager. But I would like to fix this. I am also mulling over if I should convert the entire site over to ProcessWire (a system that I am playing with currently)...

It looks like your image got cut off at the content column.

I can't think of any way the properties column would affect visibility in the Manager.

You might try changing the category of one of the templates to 9 (the category of the Article Template), to see if that makes it show up.

You missed my question: Have you created any Element Category Access ACL entries lately?

                      Bob,

I changed the main site template to "category 9", just like the the two Articles templates that do show in the Manager>Elements pane.

It works. The path to the actual template file in the Manager is now Elements>Templates>Articles>templateName. It really should be Elements>Template>templateName. But I am ok with this, just so long as we can access the template in the MODX Manager when we need to.

                      Great help as usual Sir!!!

                      Cheers,

                      Max
