Can anyone offer some basic pointers on using Git and GitHub to contribute to MODX?
I'm looking for an outline of the general process really.

EG I've started learning the real basic stuff such as cd, pwd, git status and making some commits to a test repository. I'm not a dev so I'm unlikely to contribute anycode to the MODX repository.

But for arguments sake, suppose I found a typo or wanted to update a particular graphic, how would I send a pull request (I think its called) to the main developers and have my change accepted?

I've forked a copy of MODX Revolution (the release-2.2 branch) and have a copy on my Desktop.
Where do I go from here?
