saving snippet or module fails and loads homepage into manager content area

hi there,

i’ve used modx on numerous occasions and has been a breeze to work with. however on a new install (on a shared server i haven’t used before) i’m having some weird problems:

every time i save a template, snippet or module (edit or new) the save action fails and the site homepage loads up in the main frame of the manager window. tvs, chunks and plugins save as normal, it’s only templates, snippets and modules that fail, every time.

been scratching my head on this for a while now and can’t think of a decent explanation or solution. i’ve even completely reinstalled the site, but the same thing occurs.

i don’t know if it’s relevant to this problem or not but at the top of the manager where the messages are listed it shows "Messages ( / undefined)"

My guess is that it may be related to mod_security on the server not allowing certain characters but that normally gives a server error. Try saving a blank template and see if it is related to the content.

My second guess would be something with the database.
