Hi all. I have just started installing Revo and have set the connection part up. I have tried to set the collations/Character set to the following

    utf8

    utf8_general_ci

but i get the following message?

Checking database: MODX could not create your database. Please manually create your database and then try again.

    What am I doing wrong?

Ive gone into MySQL database and into PHP admin, under operations it lists the collation as:

      latin1_general_ci

I have tried o choose on the modx setup latin 1 and then latin1_general_ci but still get the same message?

        Hello,

Can you verify that the database table and user both exist, and that the user has permissions to access/modify the database table in question? Also check that your database password isn't using special characters that could break it such as the `, ' or ; (other characters should be fine).

The best method is to create the table in PhpMyAdmin with utf8 and utf8_general_ci, then run setup with those same options.
