    Ok, I know this is probably dealt with in thousands of topics around the web, but it’s really hard to search for huh

    I just did a fresh install of Modx on a WAMP server. Directory tree looks like this:
    C:/Apache2.2/htdocs/manager

    The problem is that when I hit the home button I get this:
    Index of /
    * assets/
    * erase_install/
    * index-ajax.php
    * index.php
    * manager/

    instead of the home page.

    So what do I need to do in order to make http://localhost/ display the home page instead of an index?

    P.S. I haven’t enabled Friendly URL’s yet. Problem is the same with or without .htaccess.

      I think its normal practice to have a folder for each site within the htdocs folder e.g. dev
      Then you would access it as http://localhost/dev/
      Your are currently in the root of your web server, hence it listing the folders

        I tried it the other way last night, same result. I had:

        c:/Apache2.2/htdocs/mysitename/

        and it also displayed just the Index of/ page.

        If I go to
        c:/Apache2.2/htdocs/mysitename/index.php
        I get the home page.

          The server has to be set to recognize "index.php" as a start page in the httpd.conf file.

          Something like
          DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

            Thanks!
            It had the index.html, but not index.php.

            Works great now.
