Error moving site to a new server

I developped my site locally then I moved it to a new server.
after tweaking the config files the site shows the contents:

but when going to the manager:

I tried clearing the cache but didn do anything.
I ran setup, but then appeared this error:

How could the connection fail but show the site as seen on first figure...
Could anyone help me to get this working?

Hi Abner,

As you probably know, there's a few config files, one is in /manager/config.core.php
The other is /core/config/config.inc.php

I'm going to guess it could be related to those files, if not, try going to the /core/cache path and delete all the cache files. That could be related.

In core/config/config.inc.php, you have the database name and credentials. They are probably not correct for the new location.

Hi vrdriver, I was aware of those files.
They were set right.
The site had been running on the server but I updated it localy and then transferred the database from my machine to the server. After manually clearing the cache and trying to enter the manager, I got this error. I tried then the setup to make sure I was making the necessary changes, but couldn't pass the summary page with the error given above.
BobRay my first thought was that. but... if the credentials were wrong, How did it manage to connect when not in the setup page?
I asked my host to delete everything and then unpack a zip file of my entire site.
After they did so, I could enter the manager (previous update of all 4 config files) but was still greeted with this 'database connection failed' error.
Searching in the forums I found this:

I disabled OPcache in /setup/index.php and setup passed ok.
But now entering the manager gives me this:

I wonder if your host set the permissions incorrectly, or it was a bad upload - or in your case a bad unzip. Would it be possible that it's missing those files mentioned in the first place? I've just asking questions, probably not real solutions though...

I'm not sure what it was but it's now running.
I reUploaded the entire manager directory overwriting any file on the server.
At first it still failed, even if I manually cleared the cache each time.
Then I went to see if there were cookies stored in the browser.
There was just one, SessionID... I deleted it and the next time it entered ok...

Anyway, I plan to upgrade to 2.2.14 so I'll try to reproduce the error and then trying to correct it until I feel confident about what I' m doing and leave the 'magic factor' out of the equation.
