Edit: Seems the moved thread was deleted instead. Well, I guess my question is more generic - how to check if [+total+] is blank, and output document count and page prev next if so. Otherwise Skip the "Showing - of articles. Pages:".
Wrote a snippet, and either $total is not a valid var (always blank) or return $totalmsg (string containing doc count etc) does not output the string when I call it in the blog chunk.
Help greatly appreciated!
Edit 2: The goal was to omit the entire result count and paging links if the blog was empty. Thought a little and used the tplLast parameter.
Made a copy of the nl_blog chunk, added the text with the [+total+], [+next+] etc to it, and called it "nl_bloglast". Then I added "&tplLast=`nl_bloglast` to the Ditto call, and it worked
Not entirely logical, as it wasn’t obvious it already had the totals and pagecounts TVs ready "inside" the individual post Tpl. At least I thought it would be the chunk with the Ditto call that had to be modified, ’add’ something after the Ditto call had output n articles.
Not complaining, problem solved for me
