I am working with MIGX to create a list of hundreds of images and corresponding information(like artist name, title, ect). I will have a need to update the information from time to time. I know in the backend of MIGX you can sort the column, but is there anyway to add a search or filter tab? for example, I could type the name of an artist and MIGX would only show me only entires that had that artist name?

If you have that many items, I would use a custom-table and a MIGXdb - TV.
With that its possible to add filters (text-input,listbox,date-filter).

Keep in mind that a basic MIGx TV saves all of its data as a JSON object in a single row in the regular TV table. As an example, here's the TV content in the database from a very basic MIGx TV to display a list of chunks to choose from (checkboxes in the grid). Only three chunks have been added to the grid.
        [{"id":8,"name":"Chunk Three","selected":"1","editablefields":"selected","MIGX_id":8,"selected_ro":"{\"MIGX_id\":\"1\",\"name\":\"selected\",\"value\":\"1\",\"clickaction\":\"switchOption\",\"handler\":\"\",\"image\":\"assets\\\/components\\\/migx\\\/style\\\/images\\\/tick.png\",\"idx\":0,\"_renderer\":\"this.renderSwitchStatusOptions\",\"selectorconfig\":\"\"}"},{"id":6,"name":"Chunk One","selected":"1","editablefields":"selected","MIGX_id":6,"selected_ro":"{\"MIGX_id\":\"1\",\"name\":\"selected\",\"value\":\"1\",\"clickaction\":\"switchOption\",\"handler\":\"\",\"image\":\"assets\\\/components\\\/migx\\\/style\\\/images\\\/tick.png\",\"idx\":0,\"_renderer\":\"this.renderSwitchStatusOptions\",\"selectorconfig\":\"\"}"},{"id":7,"name":"Chunk Two","selected":"0","editablefields":"selected","MIGX_id":7,"selected_ro":"{\"MIGX_id\":\"2\",\"name\":\"unselected\",\"value\":\"0\",\"clickaction\":\"switchOption\",\"handler\":\"\",\"image\":\"assets\\\/components\\\/migx\\\/style\\\/images\\\/cross.png\",\"idx\":1,\"_renderer\":\"this.renderSwitchStatusOptions\",\"selectorconfig\":\"\"}"}]

If you have a lot of items in a grid, with more fields for each item, that would be a pretty big JSON object! The thing to do in that case is to set up a custom table using MIGXdb.
