    The situation:
I currently want to migrate a full modx installation with its database and files to another server. I want to create the database in directadmin and import the database using phpmyadmin afterwards.

    The question:
However the directadmin system forces a specific username and database name (at least the first prefix part of it to match the unix user it belongs to). How can i change the modx configuration to use the slightly different database user/name?

    Thanks in advance!

I am not 100% on this but I think you could just change the manager/includes/config.inc.php . You may need to run the installer in upgrade mode after you import your db though. Someone else should be able to let you know more decisively.

Thank you very much, that turned out to be completely accurate smiley
Fortunately I did not even have to re-run the installer.
