Moved all my sites to a better server, same host but in the UK instead of USA. However, the database properties still point to the old place. Starting the manager gives

"Failed to create the database connection!
. Please run the MODx install utility"

But I don’t want to risk installing over content I’ve added. Do I simply change some settings.php file? Or are there more files to correct?

Have you changed the database connection settings in manager/includes/config.inc.php?
That’s likely to be where the problem is.

        Thanks! smiley

Well, the trick is to know where the file is though, isn’t it? wink Searched around in SSH, Wish FTP programs had a recursive search function though, could be handy...

My host had perl, so I executed a script from SSH for all my sites, worked a treat smiley

        find . -type f | grep -E "conf" | grep -E "*.php$" | xargs grep "yourOLDdomain.com" | awk -F: '{print $1}' | xargs perl -pi -e 's/yourOLDdomain.com/yourNEWdomain.com/g'
