MIGXdb - override/customize cmp layout possible?

Making complex CMPs with MIGXdb is pretty easy, but the window is getting a little choked with all the text fields spanning the window width.

Is there a way to customize the layout (much the way I customize the processors by putting a copy/edited version in the components processors folder and then pointing it to there) by pointing it to the components assets directory?

Is it even possible to have a 2-column layout in MIGXdb CMP?
