Showing analitycs widgets in admin Dashboard with Piwik.

Hi there, i´m working on a website that have analytics info in the Dashboard. I used Piwik Analytics, and create widgets on the Modx Dashboard.

No, I see the screenshot from the developer of this plugin, this led me to investigate about Piwik.

I try to use the plugin but wanted to show more widget options ( he explain how buy i can´t get it work ), so i try myself from the Piwik widgets. The idea es the same, the only difference is that the places the data to authorize the user from code ( this is good ) and i alllow anonymous to see (only see) the stats, so it shows in modx ( this is not so good )
Anyway, the stats are only available from the manager, and you can set up Piwik in any folder so site users can´t see it.

Mathias, of course i will tell you step by step the whole process.

This is the Piwik website http://piwik.org/, read the instructions, you have a demo, a video in how to install Piwik on your server.
After the software is installed, you configure the the website to track, and paste the code to the pages ( link google analytics ) you have all working on. Next go to widgets and will see all available options to show, and each one have a embed code to copy and paste.

Next from the Modx dashboard creat3 a new widget, name it, and paste the code there. Add it to you dashboard.

You have to give anonymous user access to see the stats, do it from the Piwik configuration.

Yes it is! And plenty of info to show, visitors activity, map of visitors, visits per hour, maps in real time.. etc etc.. i´m investigating too , it´s a great marketing tool. And all hosted in your server... privacy it´s the main difference with google analytics...

Right a newbie question here, where exactly do I get teh piwik url, siteid and token_auth from, if I install this as a stand alone product it just requires username and login, I looked on the piwik site but could not find anything to give me this info.

This looks really nice can anyone help to get me up and running

PIWIK has always seem very promising to me. I like the fact you can keep the data in your own DB and do as you please with in the future. Sometimes the size of google makes me run from using her platforms.
