    This is probably a newbie question (and apologies if it's already been answered a hundred times before in this forum but I couldn't find an answer I understood).
    I'm trying to update the copyright date in the footer of this website www.finansys.co.uk but each time I change it and press Save it doesn't :-( see video here http://screencast.com/t/DO7fhU1tfRED

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks
    Simon

      What version of MODX are you using? Are there any error messages in the MODX reports, or your server's error logs?

      By the way, once you get this issue fixed, there are a few snippets available to automatically keep the copyright dates current.
      http://modx.com/extras/package/copyright
      http://modx.com/extras/package/easycopyright
      http://modx.com/extras/package/simplecopyright
      And the original, which I'm still fond of since it was the very first PHP script written by someone I was working with many years ago. Very simple, works on any version of MODX.

        Hi Sottwell

        Thanks for your response. I guess it's ver2.2.0-pl2

        In the Error Log there are about 25MB (9 months) worth of this type of error:
        )
        [2014-03-24 11:37:59] (ERROR @ /home/finansys/9D9X7TVB/htdocs/core/model/modx/xmlrss/rssfetch.class.php : 237) User warning: MagpieRSS: Failed to fetch http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/_FinanSys.rss (HTTP Response: HTTP/1.0 301 Moved Permanently
        )
        [2014-03-24 11:37:59] (ERROR in getFeed @ /home/finansys/9D9X7TVB/htdocs/core/cache/includes/elements/modsnippet/41.include.cache.php : 48) Error parsing RSS feed at http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/_FinanSys.rss
        )

        They don't use Twitter so I guess their web designer inserted something in there and forgot to hook it up or remove it.

        Today there are also these messages :

          The first thing to try is to log out, use PhpMyAdmin in cPanel to repair all tables in the DB, and then manually delete all files in the core/cache directory.

          The two most common reasons things won't save are 1) mismatched date/timezone settings, and 2) mod_security.

          SiteCheck will diagnose the first one (among other things) and will also help diagnose the many package errors you're seeing. http://bobsguides.com/sitecheck-promo.html.

          You can diagnose mod_security issues by selectively removing content from the chunk (especially new content). If it saves, that means that mod_security found something objectionable in the content you removed. Sometimes it's just a simple word or phrase it doesn't like.

          For more information mod_security, see this: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/What_is_mod_security_and_how_does_it_affect_me
