    I am having a problem in IE, Chrome, and (some versions of Firefox) in that my friendly URL pages are not showing. Instead the homepage only shows when a link in the top navigation bar is clicked. You can view my site and see the problem here: http://192.185.96.18/~tshields/

    When I open Chrome, IE, and some versions of Firefox and I click a top link in the top navigation bar, it looks like the page redirects successufully to the correct URL, but shows the homepage.

    I am currently running on a temporary URL so my temporary domain name is: http://192.185.96.18/~tshields/

    I have friendly URLs enabled.
    I have this in the head section of my template: <base href="http://192.185.96.18/~tshields/" />

    My .htaccess sheet looks like this:
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /~tshields/

    # The Friendly URLs part
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

    Any my navigation chunk looks like this:
    <!-- Start navigation menu -->
    <ul id="css3menu1" class="topmenu">
    	<li class="topfirst"><a href="[[++site_url]]" style="height:19px;line-height:19px;">Home</a></li>

    </ul>
    <!-- End navigation menu section -->

    In Firefox when I click view each link (dreictly while editing the page in MODx) the URL does match with the URL that is not displaying properly (showing the homepage).

    I am not sure whether is is caused from the .htaccess setting, a setting in my friedly URLs, or if it's caused by the URL's layout in my navigation chuck show above. I just don't know why it's showing the homepage in browsers but actually goes to the page properly. Looks to me like it's a page not found type of thing. Help please?

        Time like this I want to bury my head in the sand in shame. The resources were not published (unechecked). I am looking at everything but the simplest of solutions! In fact when I first read your response I was thinking, well that probaly is not is but I had better check. Sure enough. Kind of like tech support when they say: Is your computer power on? ha ha

        Does Revo 2.2.11 turn them off by default? I though in the past new pages we set by default to be published. Perhaps I made a change in the system settings unknowingly.

        You save me time from testing the URL syntax and .htaccess. Much appreciated.

          Published is off by default for new resources on all 2.x versions that I'm aware of. Updating wouldn't change the setting if you set it to on before however. If it was a new 2.2.11 install and you didn't manually change it to on at some point then yes, it's off by default.

          You should update to 2.2.13 ASAP however. Critical Security Vulnerability (note "critical") See: http://modx.com/blog/2014/03/07/revolution-2.2.13/

            You probably know this, but for others -- you control it with the publish_default System Setting.

            Changing the setting won't affect any existing resources. If you've got a bunch of them, install the Batcher extra so you can easily change the published status on all of them.

              Thank you both. publish_default was set to yes so I must have went through and uncheck those resources. I was tinkering with a few touchy pages so I might have turned them off during one of my fuzzy brain moments. Also I appreciate the critical update notice I did not know. I turn of notices so my clients don't see their sites need updated all the time. Now I will install patches on maybe up to 15 sites (ouch)!
