Hi,
First time Modx user trying to get my head to think the Modx way. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to have multiple sites appear in the site structure on the left handside of the manager screen?
So basically after initial installation I have the sample site appear on the left which I want to keep for ref’ purposes. Below that I would like my "new" site tree structure to appear, is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

Sure you can. Move the sample site into an unpublished "Reference" container and continue building your site at the root. Make sure to uncheck searchable using the Document Manager module, and maybe assign the demo site pages to a private web group too.

Thanks for that, is there any "quick" way to edit the document ID’s so that I can set the first page of my "site" to 0 rather then the home document being zero in the reference site? Also I had to individually move each document into the new container, is there any way to select a group of documents and move them all together into a container? at work we are going to be using MySource Matrix CMS which usea an appletwhich displays the site documents and allows you to "drag and move" / select and copy with the mouse, is there any plans for such a functionality for Modx?

No. There should never be a document with the id of 0. 0 is used to indicate top-level documents; if they have a parent of 0 that means that they have no parent.
The document ids don’t matter. It takes a bit of getting used to, but you can have documents 1,2 and 3 as children of document 658 and it won’t make one bit of difference. You can set document 782 to be the site start document (home page) in the Configuration if you want to. Those numbers are purely for internal tracking purposes. Changing them can mess up a lot of things, especially template variables!
I believe the Docmanager module (installed by default) allows you to manipulate groups of documents all at one time.
097 uses drag-and-drop to position documents in the Tree.
