I’ve got a long list of news articles, about 100 (not many yet) in my news container ranging from 2005-present making it a long middle mouse scroll.

Is there a limit on documents in a container, or would it be easier to organise the articles by year and create annual containers and move the appropriate article to there containers. Or just leave as is and let Reflect organise the archive listing!?

    Any thoughts.

I store all news docs in one container and use the reflect snippet to to build the archive by month/year based on the publish date.

@dev_cw, I’m using a similar Ditto+Reflect method. I was just looking for some ’best practice’ with regard to article/blog documents, especially if the frequency of article/blog posts increase whats the most effective way to currently manage them in MODx. But your probably right to just let Ditto+Reflect do the work!

Now I do remember smashingred posting a fix to the scroll bug in the manager...

I prefer using year and maybe even months subfolders.
The problem is with multiple authors without the skills to create sub docs. Do you compensate for this by creating the containers ahead of time? I guess that a plugin could save the document in the correct place based on the create/publish date?
