Wayfinder parameters that don't work in an external config file

Namely: startId, level, excludeDocs and who knows what else? These don't seem to work when used in an external config PHP file, only in the snippet call itself. Is there a reason for that? I like my config file to have all the config parameters in it.

can you post the wayfinder call?

That's the call I have to use. Those first 3 parameters don't seem to work in the config file.
