Duplicate content: domain.com & domain.com/index.html

Hi all,
I have a little problem...
Today I installed the first time MODx, looks pretty good!! On thing I still couldn’t fix:
In the current (default) template there are used two different URLs to the same site (I activated userfriendly URLs):
On the MODx logo it is domain.com/index.html, in the menu domain.com.
How can I change the URL on the logo to domain.com to have the same link everywhere?

You have to edıt the sıte template and change the url of an ımage ; manager > resources > templates

This might be caused by default chosen template that you can find out from tools>configuration>default template
BTW if you installed a demo content basically you will have the modxhost template assigned as default and minimal template in case you have a clean fresh install without the demo contents.

Yes, I’m using the modxhost template. But still don’t know where I find the file in which I can change the link of the image. Maybe too late for me today. Thanks for your help again!!

Search for the following line of code.


[~[(site_start)]~] is the base URL of your site either you can hard-code it or you can use the id of an specific document to be assigned to the logo this way: [~id~] .

In the ModxHost template this is located near the bottom of the html, here is the code:


The [~[(site_start)]~] part is that creates the link to the site start page. Wayfinder uses the site_url parameter to set the Home link. To modify the template and follow the Wayfinder method you need to edit the line above to:


Notice the change of the variable to site_url and the removal of the [~ ~] surrounding tags. Hope this helps
